BASF initiated the exploration of rambutan tree’s various cosmetic properties, with the ambition to ensure a sustainable use of the resource and generate a positive impact on the supply chain development. Based on the rambutan resource (Nephelium lappaceum), BASF developed three new bioactives. Nephydrat™ is an extract of rambutan peel which helps to moisturize the skin, increase skin elasticity, and reduce wrinkles appearance to help the skin look visibly younger.
