BASF Personal Care North America engages customers at NYSCC Suppliers’ Day 2025

BASF’s Personal Care business unveiled its “Beyond Beauty: Thrive into Tomorrow” campaign at the 2025 New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC) Suppliers’ Day, June 3-4, 2025, at the Javits Convention Center in New York City, booth #721. Embracing the longevity trend, the theme offered a glimpse into the future of personal care, showcasing how longevity can be achieved with innovative and sustainable solutions, that will be cater with the power of AI and R&D expertise.

Over 500 visitors were scanned in at our booth with even more customers engaging with us via meetings and attending our technical talks over the course of the two-day show. This resulted in 492 actionable leads, a 32% increase over the previous year’s show.

“At BASF, improved sustainability and scientific innovation are at the very core of our Personal Care product line. The success of the 2025 NYSCC Suppliers’ Day has reaffirmed our commitment to leading the industry with transformative solutions,” said Brandon Crist, BASF Vice President, Business Management, Personal Care North America.

At the booth, BASF introduced inspirational formulas tailored for every generation. The "Generational Beauty" zone showcased six unique prototypes that cater to diverse age groups, featuring high-performing ingredients like Verdessence® Maize, Lamesoft® OP Plus, Oximony™ and Vitaguard®, highlighting our commitment to inclusive and cutting-edge beauty solutions.

In the "Sensorial Experiences" zone, we highlighted the Binding Blocks Emulsifier Toolkit 2.0 and Rheology Toolkit, offering insights into the sensory potential of biopolymer combinations such as Verdessence® Tara, Alginate, Xanthan, and Glucomannan. Attendees explored the vast impact of emulsifiers like Emulgade® Verde and discovered sensory data that enhances texture, appearance, and feel.

The "APG Synergies" zone explored how Alkyl Polyglycosides (APGs) surfactants made from 100% renewable feedstocks, in combination with other co-surfactants, elevate foam quality by providing a variety of luxurious textures while meeting sustainability demands.

Alongside the expertise of the Technical Team, the APG synergies were possible by using our Surfactant Navigator module, which combines enhanced AI tools with real lab data and consumer perception studies to showcase the synergies that drive innovation in foam quality and texture. The Surfactant Navigator is part of our digital service that provides real-time trend tracking and helps formulators speed up product development, D’lite. At the booth, other modules from D’lite were also featured, such as Emollient Maestro and Ingredients Revealed. The booth featured exciting hands-on demos of this premier digital service.

Booth attendees were also lining up to interact with our digital services including our D’lite platform with modules like Surfactant Navigator and Emollient Maestro to help formulators speed up their developments of more sustainable and high performing products, and Mixy, our AI Lab Mixer robot, which created customized inspirational formulations. Attendees were especially delighted by Mixy who helped them develop new product concepts in skin care, hair care and sun care aligned with market trends, target consumer, and desired benefits, and containing key BASF ingredients. Much fun and excitement was had by all who interacted with Mixy!
